The Tall Blacks will come home with their heads held high after a solid campaign at the 2010 FIBA World Basketball Championships in Turkey.

New Zealand lost their opening two matches to Lithuania 79-92 and Spain 84-101, but rebounded to put on an impressive three-match winning streak beating Lebanon 108-76, Canada 71-61 and France 82-70.

Unfortunately, the 13th-ranked Kiwis fell to Russia 78-56 in their last 16 encounter — a game they easily had the potential to win if not for foul trouble and harsh refereeing.

The Kiwis bowed out at the same stage of the last championship held in Japan four years ago.
