The Baltimore Ravens have beaten the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 to win Super Bowl XLVII.The Ravens dominated the first half and at one stage were winning by a margin of 28-6. Quarterback Joe Flacco was responsible for much of the damage by throwing for three touchdowns before the half.
A power outage marred the start of the second half but spectators were treated to a spectacular third quarter comeback by San Francisco.
Quarterback Colin Kaepernick threw for 302 yards and Frank Gore ran for 110 yards on 19 carries in a game the 49ers looked set to steal.
The Ravens were able to hold on, however, and sent out retiring legend Ray Lewis a winner.
