The first couple of New Zealand sport Dan and Honor Carter have announced via social network site Twitter they are expecting their first child.
All Blacks first five-eighth Dan Carter tweeted the news from London a minute after his wife and former Black Sticks hockey player had broken it, prompting waves of congratulatory messages on social media.
"Time to share our exciting news... @DanCarter & I are expecting our first child!" Honor Carter tweeted.
"I am 21 weeks & we are both very excited :) #BabyCarter."
The pair were married at a private ceremony near Blenheim last December.
Dan Carter is in doubt for the All Blacks' final Test of the year against England at Twickenham because of an Achilles tendon injury.
